It’s not a phase. This is just an awful myth. Some people think we only transition just to sleep with straight men. Don’t let your ignorance blind your mind. This is one of the reasons why I chose to open myself on social media. People are so arrogant and ignorant. Let me ask you a question, what about transgender lesbian? How do you explain such existence? As a matter of fact, transgender females are less likely to change our orientation. We are still attracted to females if we were before. According to data, 40% to 60% of transgender females think they are bisexual or homosexual. Therefore, no matter for transgender male or female, we can ts date whoever we want.
Gender identification and sexual orientation are two different and separate concepts. Dating us does not make you homosexual. Dating us does not make you bisexual. If you are attracted to transgender females, then you are attracted to females. Transgender women are females and that is the end of the story. Some people mix gender identification and sexual orientation. They don’t understand the difference between them. Gender identification is biology while sexual orientation is fluid. Sexual orientation is decided by sexual attraction. If you are a cisgender people attracted by a transgender, that does not change your sexual identification.
We are not a secret community. Some people know so little about us and they think we intentionally keep our identity as a secret. As a matter of fact, we want to be known and we are eager to be supported. However, it is for the reason that we know that we are not able to be recognized that we refused to unveil ourselves. As you may know, the suicide and murder rate for us is astonishingly high. We only want to be safe and sound and sometimes, even this is extravagant hope. So we choose to stay low and unnoticed for the sake of our lives. Transgender people deserves a same living environment.
You should respect us as you respect other cisgender women. So far, I got numerous of questions like, do you have a vagina? Do you use tampon? When do your breasts start to grow? If you think these kinds of questions are disturbing, please note that transgender women are always the center of these topics. If you are curious about something, maybe you should ask yourself first: Is this the kind of question I would ask a cisgender woman? If the answer is no, then maybe you shouldn’t ask transgender women.
Trans dating a transgender woman is a trap. You know transgender women have the highest risks of being the victim for family violence. The problem is it seems transgender women have no where to go. It seems that only men with abusive tendency will love us truly. I witnessed so many transgender women being abused. When these women choose to leave them, they are often asked: Where can you go? Who would love you as the way I did? Who would be attracted to you other than me? Never think we are below the standard. You are not the only fish in the sea and we have our own standards.
